I hope it wasn't stuck on The Weather Channel.
HAMPTON BAYS, N.Y., Feb. 17 (AP) — A man’s body was found in his home with the television still on and his features preserved by the dry air in his home, officials said. He is thought to have been dead for more than a year.
The man, Vincenzo Ricardo, 70, apparently died of natural causes, said Dr. Stuart Dawson, Suffolk County’s deputy chief medical examiner.
The Southampton town police found Mr. Ricardo’s body this week after a report of burst pipes.
The home’s dry air had left his features intact, said a morgue assistant, Jeff Bacchus.
Mr. Ricardo’s wife died years ago, and he lived alone, Mr. Dawson said.
“He hasn’t been heard from in over a year,” he said. “That’s the part that baffles me.”
Neighbors said they had thought Mr. Ricardo was in a hospital or nursing home. Still, a neighbor, Diane Devon, said residents at a gathering last month remarked that they had not seen him in some time.
“We never thought to check on him,” she said.

Well, I guess someone else hates clowns.
BOGOTA, Colombia (Reuters) -- Two clowns were shot and killed by an unidentified gunman during their performance at a traveling circus in the eastern Colombian town of Cucuta, police said Wednesday.
The gunman burst into the Circo del Sol de Cali on Monday night and shot the clowns in front of an audience of 20 to 50 people, local police chief Jose Humberto Henao told Reuters.
One of the clowns was killed instantly, and the second died the next day in hospital.
"The killings had nothing to do with the show the victims were performing at the time of the incident," Henao said in a telephone interview. "We are investigating the motive."
With an entrance fee of under 50 cents, Circo del Sol de Cali attracts mostly poor Colombians. It pitched its tents in Cucuta, near the border with Venezuela, earlier this month.
"The clowns came out to give their show, and then this guy came out shooting them," one audience member told local television. "It was terrible."

Well, at least their not my roomates.
Argument over strudel leads to stabbing
WEST VALLEY CITY — Police were shaking their heads late Monday after an apparent argument between roommates over Toaster Strudels led to one man being stabbed.
Three roommates, all in their early to mid-20s, living near 7200 West and 2700 South, got into an argument over who ate one of the other roommates' Toaster Strudels, said West Valley police Capt. Tom McLachlan.
One of the men left but returned later with three friends, who all proceeded to assault the two other roommates, he said.
"One roommate is getting beat up pretty bad. He gets a knife and stabs one of the assailants," McLachlan said.
The person stabbed was taken by helicopter to a local hospital in serious condition.
Investigators are seeking misdemeanor assault charges against the men who entered the apartment and started the fight. McLachlan said prosecutors would decide whether the man accused in the stabbing was acting in self defense or should be charged.

Ice, Ice Baby.
(CBS/AP) A German champion paraglider survived one heck of a rough ride at the hands of mother nature.
Ewa Wisnierska was sucked into a powerful thunderstorm while training for the world paragliding championships in Australia. She was carried, unconscious and wearing a layer of ice, to an altitude of more than 32,000 feet into the eye of the storm.
Wisnierska says she didn't think she'd survive.
"The glider kept climbing, climbing, and I couldn't see anything. Then it got dark. I was already shaking, all wet, all the instruments were wet and frozen" she recounted to Australian television network AuBC.
She described the moment she realized she was in the middle of the storm, when she first heard thunder in front of her — and then a loud clap from behind.
"I was only praying, 'please, please throw me somewhere from this cloud," she said.
Wisnierska lost consciousness for about a half-hour while her glider flew uncontrolled, but she woke up, still in the storm.
Slowly she navigated her way out of the storm, and caught a glimmer of hope. "When I saw the Earth, I was like, wow… maybe, probably I will survive," she told AuBC.
She survived the ordeal with just some frostbite to her face and some abrasions to her leg from the pelting hail.
Dr. Ken Harrison, a retrieval specialist with the Australian rescue agency, said it is "kind of a medical miracle that her body was able to cope" with the unconscious glide through the freezing storm.
The same storm killed a Chinese competitor, who died from an apparent lack of oxygen and extreme cold. His body was found 47 miles from where he took off.
